The highest point accessible to visitors

Glacier Park is the centrepiece of the mountain — and the most dramatic experience it offers. A gondola cable car carries you from the base all the way up to 4,506 metres above sea level, where you step out onto a viewing platform overlooking the glacier below.

The scale is staggering. The glacier itself stretches across the mountain face in a slow, ancient sweep of ice that has existed for thousands of years. The peaks rise above you, and on clear days the views are virtually unlimited.

A word of caution: the altitude here is serious. At 4,506m, the air contains roughly 40% less oxygen than at sea level. Most visitors feel some degree of breathlessness, light-headedness, or fatigue. Oxygen bags are available for purchase on-site — many visitors use them, and there's no shame in it.

Dress warmly regardless of the season. Even in summer, temperatures at the glacier can be close to freezing, and the wind makes it feel colder still.

How to go there?

Step 1: Shuttle Bus Transfer
Begin your journey at the Waiting Hall of the Glacier Park Ropeway. Board the scenic shuttle bus and travel to the Glacier Park Cableway Station.

Step 2: Cableway Ride
From the station, transfer to the large cableway that ascends to the observation deck at an altitude of 4,506 metres. Enjoy panoramic views as you rise above the stunning alpine landscape.

Step 3: Scenic Walk
After reaching the observation deck, follow the plank road to an elevation of 4,680 metres, where you can experience breathtaking vistas of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Glacier.

Ticket and Shuttle Transfer Guidelines

After purchasing your ticket, you have a 90-minute window to board the shuttle bus. This includes 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your scheduled ticket time, giving you flexibility to begin your journey comfortably.
